There are many people, community organisations, businesses and government bodies who have and continue to support KALP. Without their help we would not be where we are today.
The former Geebung Scout Den was leased to KALP by Scouts Queensland in 2007, giving us a great space to run our programs. Scouts Queensland has now agreed to the sale of the building to KALP, and we are in the process of transferring their Brisbane City Council lease for the land in 7th Brigade Park to KALP. We recognise the past efforts by Geebung Scouts and the community that went into building the den which KALP now calls home.
Rotary Club of Aspley
The Rotary Club of Aspley has been supporting KALP since 2007, when they held their first working bee here. They have donated white goods, helped us improve our kitchen, and are currently building our disability bathroom.
Brisbane City Council
Brisbane City Council is a great supporter of KALP, and also the Delaware Street Community Garden.
We also appreciate the support of our Marchant Ward Councillor Fiona King, who always takes an interest and attends our events. She has also invited us to host a fundraising cake stall at Grange MayFair each year. Thanks Fiona!
RF Industries is a key distributor of over 8000 wireless infrastructure products from around the globe. The Queensland office at Banyo, and our friends Kev and Duncan, have supported KALP to buy a second hand bus to transport our participants.
Brisbane Life & Sports Community Inc.
BRISBANE Life and Sports Community Inc. is a non-profit organisation with strong ties to KALP. It holds regular basketball and volleyball tournaments at North Lakes and reaches out to Northside residents regardless of culture, nationality, colour, beliefs or personality.
The group regularly fundraises for KALP and is a valued partner!
The team at Bunnings Carseldine has been a great support to us. We have a couple of fundraising sausage sizzles a year at Bunnings to raise money. They have also recently worked with our participants to paint the front of our building with our new logo. Artist Don will also work with participants sometime soon to paint a mural on our back wall, closest to our community garden.
Brisbane Motor Auctions
The team at Brisbane Motor Auctions recently donated five secondhand laptops to KALP, for our participants and staff to use! Thanks Michael and your team!
Following repeated break-ins at KALP in 2010, and reading an article in the Bayside Star, the team at Back2Base at Geebung offered us installation of a security system and ongoing monitoring. We now have peace of mind that our building and equipment are safe!
