How we started
KALP began in 2004 when a group of parents of teenage children at Aspley Special School identified gaps in services for people with intellectual disabilities and medium to high support needs following school. In 2005, KALP became an incorporated not-for-profit association and in October 2007, KALP became a Disability Services Approved Service Provider.
Every parent is concerned for the future. We all want the best possible future for our adult children. This group of parents decided rather than just hope that future would happen, they'd make it happen.
