How you can help
KALP receives limited Queensland Government funding which covers basic service costs for participants. We rely on fundraising for all of the other things required to keep operating, such as a building and maintenance, operational costs, program fees, equipment and materials, staff development, transport and administration staff costs. Applying for grants is a part of this process.
We are
committed to developing KALP into a long term sustainable service through innovative
fundraising, and development of social business to support our goals. Our
participants and their families are our primary focus, and we want to be able
to provide them with the best support possible - one of the reasons we started
KALP!
There are many ways to support us:
Become a member
We would love to build our KALP community by growing our membership base.
Membership
is just $25 a year, and is tax deductible. Membership runs on a calendar year.
Your fees cover your right to vote at the AGM, the opportunity to have a voice
on our management committee or in the KALP community, and most of all to stay
connected and be a part of the growing KALP community. You will receive regular
newsletters and updates about what is happening at KALP.

You can
email it to louise@kalp.org.au,
post it or drop it in.
NB: All parents and carers of participants are required to have current membership.
Volunteer
We are always looking for volunteers, whether regularly in a support worker
role, offering professional skills, running programs, helping with maintenance
and upkeep on the building, cooking a sausage at a fundraising sausage sizzle,
giving some time at our fundraising canteen or in any way you can contribute.
Please let us know if you have skills, enthusiasm and some spare time you
can share with us. The rewards are great - for you and for us! Find out more, or contact us.
In-kind support
If you have equipment or materials we could use, that you don't need anymore, in good working order - we would love to hear from you! We also accept donations of quality goods we may be able to sell to raise funds for KALP. Please contact us to discuss.
Donations
As a registered charity, KALP is able to accept donations. We also have
deductible gift recipient status, meaning all donations over $2 are tax
deductible. You can donate in person by cheque, or by direct deposit into our
KALP Gift Fund. You can
also donate through the Givenow website, a secure facility provided by OurCommunity and Westpac Bank.
Workplace giving
Through the secure GiveNow website, you are able to set up regular donations from
wages. It is a
simple way to give a small amount each week or fortnight, without hurting your
budget too much! However it all adds up and is a great to help to KALP.
Corporate partnerships
We are open to discussing creative ways to partner with small, medium or large
organisations, which offer mutual benefits. One of the most valuable things we
can offer is a volunteering program and the chance to part of a very special
community.
If you are interested in talking about a partnership with KALP, contact Service
Manager Matt Woodford on 0459 225 479 or email matt@kalp.org.au
